Zippydogs originally started with the simple idea that you should be able to build your own practice obstacles.
With that in mind, where do you go for instructions? If there had been a book available, I would have bought it.
It would have saved me a ton of time and effort, not to mention money spent on wasted materials. After months of struggling and countless failed attempts, I finally had the equipment I wanted for training my dog. I also had the know-how and it was time to share.
That was in 2007. The book has now been published 3 times and I am always working to improve it. With common tools and virtually no special skills, I honestly believe almost anyone can build the obstacles needed to train and have fun in their own backyard. The obstacles described in the book are only slightly different than the ones for sale here. That's because it was important for me to use only materials that you could purchase at your local home improvement store. I avoided expensive specialty pieces found only at trials or purchased on-line.

Jump Cups
Jumps are easy to build and many people build them at home,
but those jump cups are tricky and expensive!!
Zippydogs will sell you the exact jump cups used on all of the jumps sold here.
You can add them to our jumps, for even quicker height changes, or to jumps you build yourself.
Each set contains 2 jump cups.
Jump Cup specs:
The jump cup is PVC, made by Dura Plastics and it is extremely durable. I have literally used them myself for years. I'll even send you the easy plans to build jumps!
Overall length is 1 5/8". This longer shank holds firmly to any height you set.
The cup itself is 1/4" deep, just inside the AKC maximum spec of 5/16".
The lip (or edge) is 1/8".
These jump cups are designed to fit 3/4" inside diameter Schedule 40 PVC home constructed Jumps.
Please be certain of the pipe size. They may not fit other commercially built (brand name) dog training jumps.

ground speed obstacles. Hoopers requires the team to work together to find the smoothest and
quickest path through the course. The Hoops can also be used to train flat work and directional commands. These Hoops meet NADAC obstacle requirement for the Arched Hoop design with ¾” PVC and ½” tubing.
